Think back to a time when you were a small child. Take yourself back to a place that you often reminisce about. Remember the sights and sounds? The scent in the air during the different seasons? We long to go back to the places we’ve held dear since we were children.The Blue Mountains is such a place to me.

The feeling of excitement overcoming me as my Dad drove towards Wentworth Falls to enjoy a bush walk around the cliffs and canyons with my family and grandparents.

New Tour

The low afternoon sun in winter time would light up the sandstone cliffs a brilliant,bright orange and yellow colour. The cliffs cut a formidable figure against the skyline. The winter air was crisp and sharp around my cheeks and it made them rosier by the minute. Loose sandstone crunched and slid under my feet as we made away down from Princes Rock look out point to the top of Wentworth Falls. My wonderment grew as I took each step. I’d stop to dip my hands into the fresh mountain stream at the top of the water fall to scoop up some fresh water to drink, before making my way to the cliff face. My Dad would pick me up and place me on his shoulders, I’d hold onto his forehead tightly as we meandered through the bush. A few steps more and we’d arrive at out destination.

These feeling stay with you for life. I feel blessed that I live in the Blue Mountains and can now take my children on the same walks I’ve always enjoyed.
